Hiring two ammo troops at the Fort Richardson Ammo Supply Point (Anchorage, AK)? These are permanent positions which is quite a plus. The open period is today through December 4th. Anybody that's been through a basic ammo course is probably qualified. Former USAF Ammo troops are as qualified as anybody in my opinion. The details can be found at usajobs.com, "search", series search (make sure to click yes on applicant eligibility or you won't see it) and enter 6502 and you should see the job. MH/FLO means material handler/forklift operator. |

BAGHDAD — Saad Eskander, the director of Iraq’s National Library and Archive, will never forget Nov. 20, 2006. That was the day Barack Obama declared Iraq was “descending into chaos” and called for the withdrawal of U.S. troops, in a speech that would define the war policy Obama carried into his historic run for president. Eskander remembers it for a different reason: “That was the saddest day of my life.” That morning, mortars and gunfire echoed outside Eskander’s office in downtown Baghdad. Then, just before noon, he learned that one of his staffers had been shot dead by a sectarian militia while on his way to work. The slaying bolstered Eskander’s belief, shared by most Iraqis during that bloody era of the war, that America was part of the problem in Iraq and U.S. troops should leave. |

Col. Bryan Bearden, commander of the 8th Fighter Wing at Kunsan Air Base, South Korea, was relieved of duty Monday because of problems in the wing’s maintenance group that cropped up in a series of inspections, according to sources with knowledge of the situation. The maintenance problems caused Gen. Howie Chandler, Pacific Air Forces commander, to lose faith in Bearden’s leadership and his ability to take the wing in the right direction, the sources said. Bearden is not being investigated for any wrong-doing, the sources said, but the recent inspections found problems with the maintenance group’s adherence to technical orders and standards of documentation. |

| Wednesday, 05 November 2008 | By Alan Caruba While Americans have been fixated on the drama of our national elections, the Syrian army has reportedly taking up battle positions in four villages around Hasbaya opposite Mt. Hermon and northern Israel. Elements of the Syrian 10th, 12th and 14th Divisions and the Third Army are now poised opposite Israeli positions holding the disputed Shebaa Farms enclave on Mt. Harmon. At this point, too, all of Lebanon is encircled by Syrian troop emplacements. Reportedly, too, Syria has established a military presence inside Lebanon. During the past summer, they set up radar stations on the Lebanese peaks of Mt. Sannine and Barukh in the central mountain range. Such radar provides a look at every move on Lebanese territory, in northern Israel, and on the eastern Mediterranean.
Lebanon is where the next big, Middle East war will begin and Lebanon will be the platform for a massed attack on Israel. Meanwhile, in Gaza, tons of explosives and weapons have been smuggled into this enclave of Hamas. A coordinated attack from the north and south cannot be ruled out. | |
